Ingredients

4 pounds ripe, unblemished pears (about 12 medium size), 1 ½ teaspoons Sweet’N Low zero calorie sweetener

Preparation

Peel, halve and core pears. Put in a large pot and add water to cover. Simmer 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, pack fruit into 4 hot, sterilized, pint jars. Measure 1 cup of water from pot and discard the rest. Add Sweet’N Low and pour evenly over pears. Seal following manufacturer’s directions. Process 10 minutes in boiling water bath. Cool before storing. Because Sweet’N Low provides only the sweetening and not the preserving qualities of sugar, jams and spreads made with Sweet’N Low must be refrigerated and used within 2 weeks, or they can be frozen.
