- 1 pound lean ground beef or veal
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon basil
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups tomato juice
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 packet Sweet 'N Low zero calorie sweetener
In large nonstick skillet, brown beef and onion.* Drain fat. Add all remaining ingredients, except Sweet 'N Low. Simmer, uncovered, about 12 to 15 minutes, until sauce has thickened. Stir in Sweet 'N Low.
*If you don't own a nonstick skillet, you can spray your skillet with a nonstick coating agent.
