Apple Pan Dowdy

(3 ½ quarts (12 servings.))

Batter

¼ cup butter
2 teaspoons Sweet 'N LowÒ Brown granulated sugar substitute
1 egg, well beaten
1 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
½ cup milk

Filling

2 cups sliced apples
1 teaspoon Sweet 'N LowÒ Brown granulated sugar substitute
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt

Batter: Cream butter. Add Sweet 'N Low Brown gradually and then add egg. Mix and sift four, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk to first mixture.
Filling Put apples in buttered baking dish. Sprinkle with Sweet 'N Low Brown, nutmeg and salt. Bake at 350°F until apples are soft. Pour batter over the apples and continue baking for 40 minutes.
